Vladimír Skrepl's painting expression is easily distinguishable due to the rawness and compactness of the technique and captured objects. His artistic language uses expressions which are not viewer friendly. Caricature, obscenity and deformation – using these and similar techniques he shifts subjects to new forms of visual presentation. The thick layers of paint and visible strokes in his paintings are part of the scene, shifting the imposed frontiers. Skrepl is head of Painting Studio II at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
