Petr Pastrňák explores the limits of the viewer's perception through his works. His paintings, on the borderline of abstraction, with stains, shapes and strokes concealing traces of landscapes or human faces, arouse various associations and are perceived differently by different observers. Stains serve as a tool for a survey into the possibilities of the medium of painting. Besides painting, Pastrňák deals with objects and installations. However, he again develops the potential of the imagination and lets the viewer think anticipated depths, induced through concrete items, out to the end.
