Petr Nikl

Petr Nikl is a unique personality on the Czech scene. His paintings, drawings and graphics reveal a fictive world of enormous imagination, talent and playfulness. This is an important part of his work in all its forms, be they his exhibition projects resembling a sort of toyshop for anybody with the imagination and willingness to discover, or his musical performances, where he also uses various masks and untraditional acoustic instruments. Nikl is a laureate of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, a member of the legendary Tvrdohlaví (Stubborn Ones) group, a multiple winner of the award given by the Ministry of Culture for the most beautiful book of the year, as well as holder of the 1998 Absurd Humour Award.
