Antonín Málek

With his expression, Málek is one of the representatives of the Czech art informel. In 1968, he emigrated to Sweden, where he remained until 1979. Then he moved to Cologne, where he still lives, although he also owns a studio in Jindřichův Hradec, to which he often travels. In 2007, the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery organized a retrospective exhibition of his works, in the opening of which The Plastic People of the Universe rock band also participated. Besides painting, Málek is devoted to photography and stage design.
