Andrea Lehmann

Andrea Lehmann reveals, through her large paintings, a magic, surreal world crossed by a girl with long black hair – the painter's alter ego. She often lets large, detailed scenes continue over several canvases, more than life-size. She sometimes complements paintings with human hair. Besides scissors and hair-cutting scenes, other motifs recurring in her paintings include faces with extra pairs of eyes, a human figure with a horse's head or a mirror. Andrea Lehmann was born in Düsseldorf, where she also studied at the academy and now lives and works.
