Jana Farmanová

This native of Nitra and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava is among the leading representatives of contemporary Slovak figurative painting. Her pictures represent mostly female heroes, through whom poetic stories are narrated. Her paintings capture human figures and faces from untraditional perspectives or blurred or in unreal compositions. Through these, light tremors of emotions and volatile moments of tenderness are mediated to the viewer. The artist often works with aquarelle, which aptly illustrates her dim world.
