Stanislav Diviš

Another member of the Tvrdohlaví (Stubborn Ones) group, he has been among the leading figures of Czech painting for several decades. Unshaded, pure, strong colours in combination with bold contours and typical stylized figures and geometric objects make his paintings easily assignable artefacts. This native of Kutná Hora finds inspiration for his paintings, which he mostly creates in cycles, in various areas, for instance, also in paintings of his son. The artist himself defines his expression as scientific realism for which the main point of departure is a certain visual system of recurring elements inspired by various ideograms, tables and scientific literature.
