Tomáš Císařovský
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Císařovský belongs to the strong middle generation of painters. His works are created in thematic cycles, often inspired by historical events or characters from among family and friends. The combination of painting and complementary texts, just like the thought-out use of distinctive, often even neon paints and timeless, non-specific backgrounds are typical of his work. Since the end of the last century, he has also combined landscape and figurative painting. However, a human figure and a simple, legible form which transforms deeper content remains the focus of his works.
