Mária Balážová

A Slovak artist of many forms, painter, graphic designer and lecturer, Mária Balážová is a member of the Klub konkretistů (Club of Concretists) group and a co-founder of the Na východ od ráje (East of Eden) group. Her expression gradually developed all the way to ornamental or semantic geometry, working with elements transferred from ornaments of Indian cultures. She also finds inspiration in various types of script and their morphology. Her works are often symbolic, referring to both personal and global subjects.
