Josef Achrer

A painter from an artistic family who, until quite recently, used the form of his first name, Pepa, to distinguish himself from his father. Achrer's works are based on geometric abstraction whose possibilities he explores on large-format canvases. The basic principles are then combined with subjects related to nature and urbanized landscapes. Due to his approach, he is a relatively atypical personality not only on the Czech scene. This graduate of the Academy of Arts in Prague was awarded, for instance, the 2012 Prize of Art Critique.
